Young Enterprise Grampian Awards 2011

Wednesday 4th May 2011

cushydoos were delighted to continue their support of Young Enterprise Grampian in 2011 after the fantastic success of 2008, 2009 and 2010's judging days and awards dinners. The event, held on Wednesday 4th May at the Marcliffe Hotel, was a fantastic success and we were very excited to be joined this year by none other than top business entrepreneur and current Dragon on BBC's Dragons Den, Duncan Bannatyne, as our special guest judge and after dinner speaker.

Read about Young Enterprise Grampian and their flagship Companies Programme Initiative here.

cushydoos, have been working with YEG for the last 4 years to help capture the imagination and interest of secondary school students in the Grampian area.

"cushydoos believe it is vital for commercial organisations to work collaboratively with initiatives such as YEG to encourage and support entrepreneurialism and skills development among students in the area, creating sustainability and helping secure the areas future economic growth." Karen Reid, Director, cushydoos Ltd.

As a result of the first cushydoos YEG event in 2008, the raised profile of the initiative, the involvement of the local business community and the inclusion of a guest celebrity judge, student uptake in the 2011 programme has trebled. This was cushydoos and Young Enterprise Grampians primary objective when we decided to create the Awards Dinner.

cushydoos and YEG have been delighted to welcome two top business entrepreneurs and ex-Dragons of BBC's Dragon's Den Doug Richards and Richard Farleigh, as guest judges and after dinner speakers, at the 2008 and 2009 awards dinners respecitvely. And in 2010 we were delighted to have Richard Reed, Founder of innocent Drinks.duncan-bannatyne.jpg

Due to the fantastic, continued support of Principal Sponsors First Oil, we are very exited to announce that our special guest judge, and after dinner speaker, in 2011 will be none other than top business entrepreneur and current Dragon on BBC's Dragons Den, Duncan Banantyne.

Ian Phillips, Chairman, YEG said “Attracting the next generation of entrepreneurial talent into business is vital for the future of Scotland’s economy.Young Enterprise appreciates the extensive support it receives from local businesses, which has allowed us to develop our Finals event into a prestigious dinner. We are particularly pleased to have attracted business people of Duncan's calibre, to enthuse and inspire the Young Achievers.”

This is a non-profit making event with all proceeds going to Young Enterprise Grampian.

With thanks to our sponsors:
